Why Human Growth Factor Exists

Building capacity to fulfill your God-given purpose.

June 11, 2026 · 4min read · Rob Amoroso

Most people spend their lives trying to become someone.

Someone more successful.

More disciplined.

More productive.

More influential.

More worthy.

High performers are especially vulnerable to this trap.

We learn early that hard work produces results. Achievement earns recognition. Productivity creates opportunity.

Over time, without realizing it, performance slowly becomes identity.

We stop asking:

“Who am I?”

And start asking:

“What have I accomplished?”

The problem is that anything built on performance eventually becomes fragile.

Because careers change.

Businesses fail.

Relationships shift.

Health declines.

And if our identity was built on what we produce, then every setback begins to threaten who we believe we are.

This is why Human Growth Factor begins with a different foundation.

Before performance.

Before optimization.

Before genetics.

Before protocols.

There must first be truth.

I believe that truth exists independent of our preferences, experiences, or opinions. We do not create it. We discover it.

For me, that foundation is found in Jesus Christ.

In a world filled with competing identities, shifting values, and endless advice on how to live, Christ provides the fixed point from which everything else can be built.

Because if we don’t have a stable reference point, we inevitably begin building our lives on unstable foundations.

For some, that foundation becomes work.

For others, money.

Status.

Pleasure.

Relationships.

Achievement.

Even good things become destructive when we ask them to provide what only God was meant to provide.

Jesus warned about this when He said:

“No one can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and mammon.”

Mammon isn’t simply money.

It represents trusting created things to provide our security, identity, significance, and purpose.

This is why so many high performers struggle with workaholism, burnout, addiction, anxiety, and chronic striving.

Because the human system was never designed to carry the burden of finding its identity through performance.

Identity was meant to be received before it was achieved.

When identity is settled, performance becomes expression instead of validation.

We stop working for worth and begin working from it.

This changes everything.

Performance is no longer about proving ourselves.

It becomes stewardship.

Stewardship of our energy.

Our attention.

Our relationships.

Our gifts.

Our influence.

Our time.

The body we’ve been entrusted with.

Because if we are created intentionally in the image of God, then our design is not random.

This includes our biology.

Our strengths.

Our vulnerabilities.

Even our genetics.

Genetics do not determine our identity.

They reveal aspects of the vessel we’ve been entrusted to steward.

Understanding how our body responds to stress, recovery, nutrition, sleep, movement, and environment becomes an act of wisdom.

Not because optimization is the goal.

But because faithful stewardship requires understanding what we’ve been given.

Most people spend their lives playing Minesweeper without realizing it.

Every setback.

Every injury.

Every season of burnout.

Every failed protocol.

Every health scare.

Teaches us where one mine was buried.

Over time, we plant flags around the things we’ve learned to avoid.

But it can take a lifetime of trial and error to uncover the whole field.

Human Growth Factor exists to help reveal the hidden constraints beneath the surface so we can stop reacting and start building intentionally.

Because capacity matters.

You cannot pour from depletion.

You cannot lead from chaos.

You cannot serve well if your system is constantly surviving.

Sleep matters.

Recovery matters.

Movement matters.

Nutrition matters.

Stress resilience matters.

Not because they make us more valuable.

But because they increase our ability to faithfully carry what we’ve been called to build.

This is where faith and science come together.

I do not see them as opposing forces.

Faith provides the foundation.

Science provides tools to better understand the incredible design we’ve been entrusted to steward.

Scripture tells us who we are and why we exist.

Our biology helps us understand how we function.

Together, they provide a framework for building lives marked by wisdom, peace, resilience, and fruitfulness.

Human Growth Factor exists to help people build capacity from those foundations.

Not by chasing performance.

But by restoring alignment.

Because performance was never meant to be identity.

It was meant to be fruit.

Fruit of stewardship.

Fruit of alignment.

Fruit of living according to truth.

You were not created to burn out trying to prove your worth.

You were not designed for constant striving.

You were not meant to build your life on unstable foundations.

You were created with purpose.

Entrusted with gifts.

Given a body to steward.

Called to bear fruit.

And HGF exists to help uncover the hidden constraints that keep people from fully stepping into that calling.

Not by becoming someone else.

But by becoming aligned enough that what you produce reflects who you were created to be.

Welcome to Human Growth Factor.

Let’s build from a foundation that lasts.
