Human Growth Factor for prescribers · GLP-1 support

Closing the gap between what you prescribe and what patients do between visits.

Supervised resistance training and protein coaching for your GLP-1 patients, so the weight comes off and the strength stays. You receive a one-page summary before each appointment.

Download the full referral kit (PDF, 6 pages)

Referral sheet, scope and escalation protocol, a sample between-visit summary, the patient consent form, a patient handout you can put your own practice logo on, and a sample quarterly outcomes report.

Why this matters for these patients

~39%

of the weight lost on semaglutide was lean mass by DXA

STEP 1 DXA substudy 1

~25%

of the weight lost on tirzepatide was lean mass by DXA

SURMOUNT-1 DXA substudy 2

~2/3

of the weight lost was regained within a year of stopping semaglutide

STEP 1 trial extension 3

DXA lean mass includes water, glycogen and organ tissue, so not all of it is skeletal muscle. The goal is not to stop every pound of lean loss. It is to protect strength and function, which is the part anyone actually feels.

What your patients get

Supervision
Progressive resistance training covering every major muscle group, coached in person until the technique is solid.
Structure
A training and protein plan built around appetite that changes week to week, and around the days when eating is hard.
Accountability
Weekly check-ins, with adherence tracked as rates rather than impressions. Protein hit five days of seven is a fact. Doing well is not.
Encouragement
Coaching that builds habits meant to outlast the prescription, because the habits are the part of the result you keep.

Measured monthly

Grip strength
Hand dynamometer, best of three, measured monthly.
Five-times sit-to-stand
Timed, same chair each time, measured monthly. One of the two measures used in sarcopenia consensus criteria.
Protein, as a rate
Days per week the target was hit, not an average that hides the days it was missed.
Training sessions completed
Sessions done against sessions planned.

Scope: what I never do

  • ·Recommend, adjust, or comment on dosing or titration
  • ·Diagnose, treat, or interpret symptoms clinically
  • ·Suggest starting, stopping, or switching medications
  • ·Source or discuss non-prescribed compounds

Medication questions go back to the prescriber, every time.

When I contact you

Chest pain, fainting, or severe shortness of breath during or after exercise means 911 first, then your office the same day. Thoughts of self-harm with a plan means 911 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and I stay with the client until help is engaged.

The patient contacts you and I notify you the same day for:

  • ·Severe or persistent abdominal pain, with or without vomiting
  • ·Vomiting or diarrhea preventing fluids being kept down for 24 hours
  • ·Signs of dehydration: dizziness on standing, very little urine
  • ·Pain in the upper right abdomen, fever, or yellowing of skin or eyes
  • ·Low blood sugar symptoms in patients also on insulin or a sulfonylurea
  • ·New or worsening low mood, or thoughts of self-harm without a plan

Mild nausea, constipation, reduced appetite, missed doses the patient reports, strength dropping more than ten percent over two weeks, or protein consistently under target are noted in the next summary rather than escalated.

What arrives before each appointment

Between-visit summary · sample

Illustrative. Not a real patient.

Bottom line. Grip and sit-to-stand improved while weight fell 5.0 percent. Protein short of target on injection days. Nothing requiring escalation this period.

Plus tolerability as the patient reported it week by week, anything they asked me that I referred back to you, and what changes next. Side effects and protein are self-reported and labeled as such. The summary contains no medical advice.

How a referral works

Who to refer
Patients starting a GLP-1 medication, already on one, or tapering off and trying to hold their results.
How
Call or text (727) 295-2721, or hand the patient this page. Intake includes written consent to share updates with you, which the patient can withdraw at any time.
Cost to you
None. This is a referral-only relationship and no fees are paid or received in either direction. Patients pay privately and may be able to use HSA or FSA funds with a Letter of Medical Necessity.
Where
In person across Sarasota and Manatee. Remote coaching anywhere else.
